Product Description

TheEyewear Dust Resistance Tester is mainly used to test the dust protection performance of eyewear, glasses or other materials including: films, textiles, leather, printing, paints, automotive parts, aviation industries, cell phone, electronic parts and components and etc. This specialized equipment evaluates the effectiveness of protective face shields and safety goggles in preventing the ingress of airborne dust particles. It simulates occupational exposure environments to measure the inward leakage of test dust around the sealing interfaces and through materials.
Applied Code

EN168,EN166, ANSI Z87.1, GB 14866-2006

Characteristics
  1. Controlled Test Atmosphere: Generates a stable, high-concentration aerosol of standardized test dust (e.g., Arizona Test Dust ISO 12103-1 A2 Fine, sodium chloride, or other specified particulates) within a sealed test chamber.

  2. Thermoplastic Headform: Utilizes an anatomically correct headform (compliant with standards like EN 168) equipped with sampling probes positioned behind the eye area(s) of the test specimen.

  3. Programmable Motion System: Simulates realistic user movement patterns (e.g., head nodding, side-to-side rotation) as mandated by standards (e.g., EN 168, ANSI Z87.1) to challenge the seal integrity dynamically.

  4. Precise Particle Counting: Employs high-accuracy optical particle counters or condensation particle counters (CPCs) to quantitatively measure the concentration of dust particles both inside the chamber (challenge concentration) and behind the protective device (inward leakage) sampled via the headform probes.

  5. Airflow Control: Maintains consistent airflow rates and chamber pressure conditions throughout the test cycle.

  6. Calculated Protection Factor: Determines the Inward Leakage (%) and/or the Protection Factor (PF) for each test sample using the formula:PF = (Chamber Particle Concentration) / (Particle Concentration Inside the Device). Higher PF values indicate superior dust protection performance.
