The EN 17092-1:2020 Impact Abrasion Tester evaluates the abrasion performance of motorcycle protective clothing and garments by simulating sliding on a concrete surface. It records initial speed, stopping time, and sliding distance for reliable performance assessment.

Main Technical Parameters

1.Number of test specimens: 3

2. Static pressure applied to test specimens: (18.75 ± 0.2) kPa

3. Equipment shall be provided with 3 sets of specimen holders and retaining ring.

4. Friction contact surface of specimen holder: Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) pads (all holders must use pads of the same dimensions)

Pad parameters:
Diameter: (48 ± 1) mm
Height: (12 ± 1) mm (after completion of standard test cycle)
Shore A hardness: (65 ± 5) Shore A
Density: (1.4 ± 0.1) g/cm³

5.Rotor moment of inertia: (2.95 ± 0.05)kgm²

6.Rotating system loss requirements:
At a rotational speed of 354 rpm ± 3%, with the rotor running freely and the holder not in contact with the concrete slab, the equivalent sliding distance of the specimen holder shall be at least 400 m

The complete mechanical and electrical system shall meet the following initial conditions:
Initial speed: adjustable within the range of 140 rpm to 720 rpm.

8.The equipment shall be equipped with a specimen carrier lifting mechanism, primarily used to control axial movement. When the mechanism is locked, the specimen carrier rotates above the concrete slab without contacting it; when the mechanism is released, the carrier descends.

9.The equipment shall be equipped with a specimen carrier lifting mechanism, primarily used to control axial movement. When the mechanism is locked, the specimen carrier rotates above the concrete slab without contacting it; when the mechanism is released, the carrier descends.

10.The equipment shall adopt touchscreen control and measurement recording devices for recording the stop time and sliding distance after carrier release, as well as the initial rotational speed, with an accuracy of 3%.

11.Each cantilever arm of the specimen carrier shall be fitted with one specimen holder. The distance from the holder center to the rotation axis shall be 450 ± 2 mm.
