In general, the first thing to consider when choosing a helmet is the burden on the neck when wearing a helmet, and feel the weight of the body when it is balanced. The balance of the helmet is very important, because the closer the center of gravity of the helmet is, the less likely it is to fatigue. Therefore, what matters is not the weight of the helmet itself, but the balance of the helmet performance. From a safety point of view, when the helmet is subjected to a strong impact, the soft foam spacer inside the helmet can make the impact not hurt the person's head.

Some damaged helmets have almost three or four collision marks at the same place. Regarding the breathability of the helmet, the aeration device is not installed near the opening of the protective cover of the helmet itself, but is installed on the protective cover body, mainly for maximizing the protection range of the helmet when it is impacted.

Lateral rigidity

The deformation of the cap should not exceed 40mm, and the deformation should not exceed 15mm after unloading.

a test device: pressure test machine.

b test method: the helmet is placed laterally between two rigid plates of size 300mm × 250mm, a helmet with a brim, the brim extends out of the flat plate, close to the bottom edge of the cap; a helmet without a brim, The lateral test is located 5 mm from the top of the cap down 200 mm. The press presses the helmet through the flat plate, first adding 30N as the starting point, and measuring the distance between the two plates. Then press 100N every one minute, add it to 430N, and measure the distance between the two plates. The difference between the two measured values ​​is the helmet deformation value. The pressure is reduced to 25N, and then the pressure is increased to 30N. The distance between the two plates is measured again, and the difference between the measured values ​​and the measured value is the deformation value after unloading.

2. Lower jaw with tensile strength

The chin band should not be broken or slipped, and its extension length should not exceed 20mm.

Test device

a) Head mold: It should meet the requirements of Appendix A of GB 2811-1989;

b) mechanical squatting device: consisting of two rollers with a center of 75 mm and a diameter of 12.7 mm;

Test method: the helmet is placed on the head mold of the support gantry, and the chin belt passes around the roller of the mechanical squat, so that the distance between the top of the head mold and the bottom of the roller is 210 mm ± 10 mm, and then the load is first applied 45 N ±5 N, measure the distance between the top of the helmet and the roller, then press 100N every 1min, gradually load to 450 N ±5 N, keep 1min, measure the distance between the two again, the difference between the two measurements This is the extension of the chin strap and check for signs of damage.
